EV LAB and Pure Electric Join Forces to Accelerate Micromobility Adoption in the Middle East

According to the Sustainability Middle East News—The UAE’s electric mobility landscape continues to gain global attention as EV LAB, the region’s first omni-channel, multi-brand electric vehicle retailer, announces a strategic investment in Pure Electric, the international micromobility company founded by British entrepreneur Adam Norris. The move positions the UAE at the center of a rapidly expanding global shift toward compact, efficient, and sustainable transport.
EV LAB and Pure Electric Join Forces

Under this new alliance, EV LAB becomes the exclusive partner for Pure Electric across the Middle East. The collaboration was marked by the regional unveiling of three next-generation e-scooters—Air⁴, Pure x McLaren, and Pure Flex—each designed to elevate performance, user safety, and urban convenience.

The partnership aligns closely with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 ambitions and the region’s rising demand for smarter last-mile mobility. As Gulf cities continue to urbanize at speed, micromobility has emerged as a practical solution for congestion, emissions reduction, and short-distance travel.

The GCC is now among the fastest-growing EV and micromobility markets worldwide, supported by progressive regulation, infrastructure investments, and a growing culture of eco-conscious mobility choices.

Pure Electric’s new models reflect the brand’s approach to engineering innovation and rider-centric design.

  • Air⁴ introduces a refined fourth-generation platform with a 710W motor and 30 km range, engineered for smoother acceleration and a premium riding feel.
  • Pure x McLaren features McLaren’s iconic orange livery, active steering stabilisation, a 900W motor, and 50 km range, delivering sport-inspired performance in an urban format.
  • Pure Flex is the world’s most compact folding scooter with a forward-facing stance. Designed for superior control, stability, and portability, it offers a 45 km range and an ultra-compact fold suited for city living.

All three models will be available in EV LAB’s expanding retail network across the region, bringing global micromobility innovation closer to Middle East consumers.

During the launch event, Sam Khan, Publisher of Sustainability Middle East News and Magazine, raised a critical question about battery performance and rider comfort in harsh climates.

Kevin Chalhoub, Founder and CEO of EV LAB, emphasized how modern battery advancements are minimizing heat-related efficiency losses. He also highlighted the tangible impact of micromobility on emission reduction, noting that every scooter ride saves an average of 120 grams of CO₂.

This shift in consumer behavior, Chalhoub added, reflects a growing regional appetite for smarter, cleaner, and more flexible mobility options.

The UAE’s micromobility market is projected to reach USD 2 billion by 2030, driven by a CAGR of 12.2 percent. Factors fueling this growth include rising environmental awareness, infrastructure development, and the need for efficient last-mile solutions.

EV LAB continues to broaden its offering across land, sea, and air—ranging from e-scooters and electric cars to boats, surfboards, and even air taxis—forming a comprehensive electric mobility ecosystem.

When asked about lessons learned from international markets, Adam Norris explained that safety remains the number-one driver of adoption. Pure Electric scooters now feature lower centers of gravity and improved rider positioning—design principles already validated in countries such as Germany.

“As people feel safer, they ride more,” Norris said. “And higher usage naturally accelerates market adoption.”

Since its founding in 2018, Pure Electric has expanded into eight countries, grounded in its ethos of engineering precision and safety-first design.

The partnership also coincided with a meaningful moment for Norris, whose son Lando Norris celebrated his first Formula 1 World Championship title in Abu Dhabi.

“This partnership is incredibly meaningful as it comes at the same time as my son’s first Formula 1 World Championship win. I’m deeply proud—both as a father and as a business owner,” he said.

With EV LAB’s strong regional presence and Pure Electric’s global engineering leadership, the partnership sets the stage for a new era of accessible, sustainable, and compact mobility across the Middle East. As cities rethink their transport systems and consumers shift toward eco-conscious choices, the collaboration represents a decisive step in shaping the region’s future mobility landscape.

The rise of micromobility reflects a broader global movement toward cleaner, more efficient transport systems. These themes will take center stage at two major platforms in the UAE next year:

EcoMobility Global (EMG 2026) co-located with the 5th Edition of the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS Abu Dhabi 2026), co-located on 13–14 October 2026 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

Together, they will convene global leaders, innovators, and industry stakeholders shaping the next generation of sustainable mobility—from electric transport and battery technologies to micromobility, hydrogen solutions, and AI-powered mobility systems.

As the UAE strengthens its position as a hub for innovation, EMG and EVIS offer a premier stage for companies like EV LAB and Pure Electric to showcase advancements, forge partnerships, and contribute to the global transition toward smarter mobility ecosystems.
